Vintage sink basin made of strong terra cotta originally manufactured (and stamped) by the historic Gladding McBean Co. 14″ from the wall at the bottom, 23″ from the wall at the top, 25 1/2″ wide, 1 1/2 inch sink wall thickness, 14″ deep. Left hand drain. These basins are rare. There is some paint debris inside and some chips (see photos). No legs, just the basins. Industrial terracotta, not concrete. Earthenware. Gladding, McBean is a ceramics company located in Lincoln, California. It is one of the oldest companies in California, a pioneer in ceramic technology, and a company which has contributed immeasurably to the state’s industrialization. During the heyday of architectural terra cotta, the company dominated the industry in California and the Far West. Condition consistent with age and use as a utility sink. Some chips and crazing.
